VanDrie Group highest listed family company on Transparency Benchmark
VanDrie Group receives high national recognition for CSR policy.
The VanDrie Group, the global market leader in veal, has attained a high position in the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affair's Annual Transparency Benchmark with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report for 2015. This benchmark is an annual study of the content and quality of the social reporting at companies in the Netherlands. With 166 points, the VanDrie Group ended up in 54th place, 36 places higher than last year. What is notable is that this makes the company the highest listed Dutch family firm in the ranking, while it also leads the way in the meat sector.
Henny Swinkels, Director Corporate Affairs of the VanDrie Group: “Sustainability and the company’s role in society are becoming ever more important. We do an awful lot in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, but to the outside world, it’s often not clear what we do and why. The CSR report is one of the ways we explain this.”
He continues: “It provides confidence that we’re taking the lead as a family business. What’s more, the meat sector is often quite often accused of not being transparent. We demonstrate that this is not the case and it is also acknowledged by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in the form of this high score.”
The VanDrie Group's CSR report titled ‘Kracht van de Keten’ (The Power of the Chain) provides insight into all sections of the company's chain. The report discusses results achieved, ambitions and the challenges the company is facing.
